It's hard to believe that summer and September are already over! We have been working hard in First Grade learning new routines, expectations, and all about being responsible (our new character education word of the month)! Students have also made new friends in our classroom and new buddies with Mr. Ciereck's Third Graders.
I would like to thank all the parents and grandparents, again, that came in before the kids started school to meet me and drop off their school supplies, too! What a huge help you were! If I have not had the opportunity to meet you, or talked with you by phone already, I welcome the opportunity to meet at our Open House this week. My goal is to make your child's year of learning in first grade, the best and most memorable that it can be! We can accomplish this through working together and keeping each other informed. At Open House, there will be sign up sheets if you would also like to volunteer in our classroom or for class parties. I truly welcome and value your support this year!
Our first field trip is quickly approaching, and will be to Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards on Thursday, October 15th. Please let me know if you would like to go and help chaperone this fun trip. The kids love it every year, and we get some wonderful keepsake pictures of them having fun and just being kids! Happy Fall!
